The admissions process into Australian universities, for most high school leavers, involves making an application through one of the five state-based Tertiary Admissions Centres (TACs).

alternative entry schemes

Most universities offer Alternative Entry Schemes for Indigenous applicants who are not able to gain admission through direct entry. 

preparatory and enabling programs

Preparatory and enabling programs are for students who need to build up their skills before entering uni through direct entry or alternative entry schemes.

bridging courses

Bridging courses are usually for students who have gained entry to their course but need to complete or refresh particular subjects to be eligible to enrol.
