About the scholarship

Summary

  • Anglo American Metallurgical Coal is pleased to offer scholarships to exceptional Indigenous students to support them throughout their university studies to the completion of their degree (to a maximum of 4 years). The Scholarship opportunities offer the opportunity to connect with our professionals within the business to support you throughout the remainder of your degree. Scholarships are open to students at any stage of their degree.

Further financial information

  • Costs can be spent as the recipient deems appropriate – no conditions on how the money is to be spent are set by Anglo American. Applications will open in July 2013.

  • work placement during studies
  • work placement post-completion of studies
  • continued eligibility
Applicant criteria

The applicant must

  • identify as Indigenous Australians and/or Torres Strait Islanders and be accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community
  • be studying a relevant bachelor level degree at a Queensland or New South Wales tertiary institution
Selection criteria

Successful applicants based on

  • maintaining a university grade point average (GPA) of a Credit or above
  • studying a full-time course load of 100% according to the university's subject weighting policies
  • possessing a desire to pursue a career in the mining industry
  • not being under bond or committed in any way to an employer
  • alignment to Anglo American Core Values
